InfraStrategies is leading a team of consultants to conduct the LA Metro Agencywide Budget Equity Assessment, a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving the way equity is integrated into Metro’s budget development and decision-making processes. InfraStrategies is developing strategies that Metro can implement to enhance procedural and distributional equity across Metro’s investments, refining equity metrics to more comprehensively evaluate benefits and impacts, and improving measurement of equity outcomes. To ensure sustained and measurable outcomes across Metro’s broad portfolio of projects, cost centers, and expenses, InfraStrategies will suggest new and refined equity assessment tools. This work builds on previous evaluations of Metro’s budget equity effectiveness and will result in actionable recommendations informed by best practices within and outside of the transit field.
